Why European Didn't Eat Rice

European national food is McDonald, just as the Americans. Even in the most remote places in Europe, you can surely find your favourite burgers. Even Mc Pig ! But I never tasted that.

Nurnberger_bratwurstGermans favourite food is the Bratwurst (long sausage, cruncy skin) This is large hotdog, complete with German brown bread and added with mustard. But I always have trouble eating it as it is sooo long, not used to eating things sooo long... And of course, the German favourite drinks are beer, vodka, tequila, rum, anything alcohol. Plus, it is relatively cheaper here, so everyone can get drunk fast anytime and anywhere! The Germans know how to enjoy life. They have town festival all year around, to celebrate Christmas, spring and summer, but I always think this is all just for a reason: to drink!

Turkish_tea_1Then, the Italians. They make nice pizzas and tasty spagetti. I think Pizza Hut bluff us! Much softer crust and more toppings. But one thing about Italian is that normal coffee is espresso. I ordered coffee few times but what they gave me was espresso. What the hell.. small, just one gulp, and bitter. I put alot of sugar until it became coffee again.. And then, there was the Greek coffee. Taste like Kopi O but with a lot of coffee leftover still under the glass, and a bit salty, maybe because too near to the sea? Ha... They also drink tea, just like the Turkish. A whole lot of variety, apple, orange, peppermint tea. I tasted the orange tea in a cute small glass and smells more like sweet-orange-water than tea, but definately very cheap.

Doener_1The Turkish also introduced doner to Europe. It is what we called kebap in Malaysia, but in Germany, the doner is big. I mean really big, bigger than the original ones in Turkey. So bravo to the girls that can eat it all alone! With meat (all halal), onion, tomato, cucumber, and raw sour cheese, this is better than McD! The Greek type is much smaller and rolled up, but added with french fries and the bread is like "roti pita", called Souvlaki.

Basically, outside food or snacks are expensive here. Yeah, the chinese food too... Chinese mee cost EURO 2.50 (RM12)! A good reason to open cheap chinese food stall. So, eat what you cook and cook what you eat is always the right choice.

Most "Sien" Cities in Europe

1. Istanbul, Turkey
Nobody will give you any peace here, selling things and talk sh*t all along
2. Frankfurt, Germany
Famous for her high-rise buildings, but can't even compare to KL....
3. Zurich, Switzerland
Nothing interesting here, normal food, too expensive and really boring

My Euro 1** Room!

To those who don't know I am in Germany, HA! I am going home in OCT! Leaving this place forever! Not that I don't like it here but because I love Malaysia more.. I can't stand without curry chicken!

3_seasons_1

Yes, the view outside my old room. From near autumn until winter. The last room was smaller but the cockroaches were trying to build an empire there so here I am, in another room just across the park. This new room cost more and has a very nice view of "Berlin Wall" just outside.

Staying in the International Student House! Wow! Everything is supplied for us: a big table, a lamp, a bed, a cupboard, a book shelve! Seems like a wonderful to stay ar... Yes, everything is perfect IF the term international means Malaysian, Indonesian, China and Indian! Understand what I mean?

30 minutes from the University. From here to the company I had my Practical Training, I need to take the tram (30 minutes) then the train (25 minutes) and lastly the bus (15 minutes). Plus the waiting time, I need 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the company. One day, I need 3 hours so for the whole training, I used 105 hours to commute. A cool 4.375 days just for transportation. So "fun"! It's just like staying in Penang and working in Ipoh. I will surely try this next time...

Then the air here is so fresh! Compared to Kay El which is so dusty and hot, the air here is so tasty.000_0086 Yes, tasty. You can taste the air here. Sometimes during the evening or after rain. I still do not know why is it like that? Oh... By the way, another view from the room. Amazing right? So, basically this is where I sleep for more than a year now. A nice and safe neighbourhood in Istanbul... I mean Duisburg. Ah.. Duisburg is in the Bundesliga next season. I will surely see some football matches before I go back and I will surely be in Duisburg side against the likes of Bayern Munchen and Borrusia Dortmund. More chance to curse... >:D
